Tata Tiago has been a very nice and refreshing product in the hatchback segment. It offers contemporary looks and has a very smooth design to it. The front portion is very well laid out – comes with a smiling grill and is complemented well by headlights that are big and laid-out nicely. The side profile of the car is highlighted by a crease that is running across the length of the car – it makes the car look longer than it actually is and also gives it character.
The interior for the Tiago is the better part – the dashboard is easily laid out and with Piano black inserts to the center console to give it a premium look. The top end variant gets - Harmon system which is a 8 speaker unit which delivers fabulous music and feels far better than cars in higher segment. It also comes with the Navigation unit which is quite similar to the ford sync app. One good thing which you will like is the AC vents which are of same color as the car it’s a nice touch to it.
Driving the Tata Tiago is a breeze – for 3 cylinder Diesel has got the gear ratios spread across the range – benefit to customer being engine is quite happy running around the town as well as going on highways. Compared to Maruti Celerio with a 2 cylinder diesel engine or the Hyundai Grand this one is brilliant to drive. Overall, Tiago has all what it takes for being a top selling car, but, the big question is will it be able to break the old perception of smoke blowing, high maintenance Tata car? Time will tell.
