The story of Rajdoot motorcycles begins in the early 1960s, when India was taking its first major steps toward building a strong domestic two-wheeler industry. Manufactured by Escort Group, Rajdoot quickly became one of the most recognized and trusted motorcycle brands in the country.

Origins and Early Development


Rajdoot motorcycles were introduced to make personal mobility affordable and reliable for Indian riders.

The company partnered with Poland’s SHL (Huta Ludwików) to use the proven engineering of the SHL M11, a rugged 2-stroke motorcycle known for durability.

Escorts adapted the Polish design to Indian roads and conditions, resulting in the launch of the Rajdoot 175 in 1962.
